Bishop Lois B. Hill, Pastor - Teacher
Bishop Lois B. Hill started her church work early; she joined St. Paul Baptist church under the leadership of Dr. L. K. Jackson in 1953 where she worked faithfully in the choir. In 1962 she began directing the choir for the Price Temple Church of God in Christ under the pastorate of Elder Joseph L. Price. While directing the choir in 1966, the spirit of the Holy Ghost moved on her and she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior.
In 1968, she was called to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to every creature and was ordained to go forth in the ministry under her Pastor, Elder Joseph L. Price. She served as co-Pastor from 1981-1982; Interim Pastor from 1982-1983 before she was officially appointed Pastor of St. Jude in 1984 by the Chief Apostle Bishop Joseph L. Price. In 2013 Apostle Price appointed Bishop Hill as Bishop Prelate for the Deliverance Centers of America, Inc.
Bishop Lois B. Hill has implemented many programs under her ministry,
which includes an after school program for children entitled "Kids Corner C. A. F. E." as well as the "DR. CORDIA P. MOORE ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM"
which awards a high school student with a savings bond after maintaining honor roll status for the entire year.
She is also an inspirational songwriter, with songs "LADY YOU'RE SPECIAL", and "GET IN ME JESUS, HAVE YOUR WAY IN ME."
Her favorite scripture is Isaiah 59:1 which reads "BEHOLD, the Lord's hands is not shortened, that it cannot save, neither his
ear heavy, that it cannot hear," Certainly this scripture reflects Pastor Hill's undaunted faith in the Almighty and has been a guiding force in her ministry, her life and her works.
After much prayer and fasting, the Lord moved Pastor to change the name of our church to reflect a more comprehensive Ministry; the ministry of the family. Our Family Church Motto is: Where I mean
We.... Where We means One, and Where WE ARE FAMILY.
After continuing to pursue her academic dream, she graduated from Chicago Baptist Institute in June 1994 with a Bachelor Degree in Theology and in May 1996, she completed her studies at Indiana University with a Master's Degree in Health Administration.
As a licensed R.N. Bishop Lois Hill served many years as head nurse at St Catherine’s Hospital. She responded to the call and became Supervisor of Health Services for the Gary Community School Corporation. After retiring she returned to pursue her ultimate calling:
